Nine hundred and forty-five years ago today, Harold Godwinson, the last Anglo-Saxon ruler of England, died at the Battle of Hastings. "Danelaw," West Saxon and Mercian rules and codes was abolished in favor of Norman laws; all ties to Denmark/Scandinavia and the old Norse religion were severed.

Finally got around to watching the season three finale of Being Human yesterday (Wolf-Shaped Bullet). Everyone have a good Turkey Day? While mine was busy (cooked for six) it went off without a hitch. Instead of turkey, I made Paula Deen's Herb Crusted Pork Loin, which turned out OMG DELICIOUS! I substituted two tenderloins (4.75 lb total) instead of the pork loin called for in the recipe. Didn't change a thing except reduced the heat and cooked ( Read more... )
